This project is designed as an example of how we can produce items quicly on CNC machines. It is also designed to be a vacuum forming mould but i would drill some 1mm through holes in the bottom of the trough.

The fact that all the faces are sloped also makes it a relatively hard part to make by hand.

I would probably only use this as a teaching aid.

I needed to place some of my Boxford business cards in the showroom for visitors to pick up should I be away.

There were a number of ways I could achieve this but my love of wood took over and i decided to machine the shape out of an off cut.

But equally the block could be a master for vacuum forming.

To achieve more success the mould would need some additional drafting.

Initially I designed the shape using Pro-Desktop.

And then exported the file as an STL.

The next operation was to load the STL file in 3D Geocam.

Using the round 6.35mm cutter the shape was then machined straight out of the master block.
