The New Look Website has a series of icon patches both in the main index and subsequently the project pages themselves. This page set out to explain their function.

Some projects become limited to certain of your machines this may be due to size or material.

The accuracy of CNC however does allow for these projects to be manufactued in part and then assembled. Most large projects can be broken down in this manner.

Fabrication from smaller units is the way industry of today functions, accurate manufacture is the basis of all todays fabrication.
A1

The "Range" style of patch is designed to tell you that the project can be manufactured on every machine in that range.

With the A1 range it would be rare for it not to be able to make any of the router projects as the rule what will do a lot will also do a little, applies.

 It is unlikely that you will see these individual patches on any projects but they have been included in the system should it ever be necessary.

With the A3 range most router projects will work on all the machines in the range including the RTC.

This patch is included for the occasion that the metal cutting power of the M series is to be highlighted for a project.
Lathe

The "Range" style of patch is designed to tell you that the project can be manufactured on every machine in that range.

 It is unlikely that you will see these individual patches on any projects but they have been included in the system should it ever be necessary. Occasionally the size of a 220 or 250 is required and that is when these patches would be used.
Mill

The "Range" style of patch is designed to tell you that the project can be manufactured on every machine in that range.

 It is unlikely that you will see these individual patches on any projects but they have been included in the system should it ever be necessary. Occasionally the size of a 300 is required and that is when these patches would be used.
MT2
 The MT2 has a milling ability this patch is designed to show where it's specialty is needed.
A3

The Blue RTC patch is used when a whole project could be produced using this single machine.

The Green RTC patch is there to show that it could be used to manufacture the lathe parts.

This patch will not be used if a prior lathe patch is used it is up to you to check if the part could be made in materials the RTC supports.
Dueti

The Green Duet patch is there to show that it could be used to manufacture the lathe parts.

This patch will not be used if a prior lathe patch is used. It is up to you to check if the part could be made in materials the RTC supports.

The Green MT2 patch is there to show that it could be used to manufacture the lathe parts.

This patch will not be used if a prior lathe patch is used. It is up to you to check if the part could be made in materials the RTC supports.
This patch will not be used if a prior milling patch is used. It is up to you to check if the part could be made in materials the Midi supports.
Lasers
 The laser cutter tab is used to show that this project could be made on any of the laser machines in our range.
Laser

The individual laser patches will only be used if the part is restricted to a single model for some reason, such as size.
Ks3
 The Keystage 3 tab is used on projects that can be introduced or tailored to the level. Again we are aware that levels change from school to school so it's inclusion is based on my judgment based on the schools I have worked in and the way I have taught. You may have to adjust to suit your school.
The Keystage 4 tab is used on projects that can be introduced or tailored to the level. Again we are aware that levels change from school to school so it's inclusion is based on my judgment based on the schools I have worked in and the way I have taught. You may have to adjust to suit your school.
The AS Level tab is used on projects that can be introduced or tailored to the level. My expectations of AS level are high based on the pupils I have worked with my feeling is that an AS level students brain is as advanced as a university students, it is still building knowledge and a toolbox at this stage. Again we are aware that levels change from school to school so it's inclusion is based on my judgments based on the schools I have worked in and the way I have taught. You may have to adjust to suit your school.
STEM
 Project has all the aspects of STEM.
